Iron-man goaltender, Glenn has played all of six seasons in NHL without missing a game. All-Star in 1959-60, made second team last year. As a rookie in Detroit he scored 12 shutouts. After soph season, was traded to Hawks. Affable and even-tempered, Glenn is proud of his profession.

Glenn Hall’s consecutive game streak would come to an end during the 1962-63 season. On November 7, 1962, Hall was pulled ten minutes and 21 seconds into a game against the Boston Bruins due to back problems with Denis DeJordy playing the rest of the game. Still, Glenn went on to appear in 66 of Chicago’s 70 games that year.
The streak ended at 502 games. This remains the longest streak by an NHL goalie and places him 25th all-time, regardless of position.
In 1955-56, Glenn put up incredible numbers for the Detroit Red Wings as a rookie. He posted a 2.10 goals against average with 12 shutouts. This earned him the Calder Trophy with an edge over Andy Hebenton and Henri Richard in voting. Along with playing all 70 regular season games, he played in all ten playoff games as the Red Wings reached the final before falling to the Montreal Canadiens.
On the back of this 1961-62 Topps hockey card, it mentions Hall was selected as a First Team All-Star and Second Team All-Star once each. In fact, by the time the card was published, he was a three time First Team All-Star and was named to the Second Team twice. Over his career, those numbers would increase to seven First and four Second.
Between 1952-53 and 1970-71, Glenn Hall appeared in 906 regular season and 115 playoff games in the National Hockey League. Along with the Red Wings and Blackhawks, Glenn also had a four year stint with the St. Louis Blues at the end of his career. Hall was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1975.
