The Flyers’ leading scorer in 1980-81, Bill also topped the club with 16 power play goals. Bill was co-leader with 12 goals for the Flyers in the 1979-80 Stanley Cup playoffs.

The info snippet on the back of this 1981-82 Bill Barber hockey card contains an ERROR. He was not co-leader in goal scoring for the Flyers in the 1979-80 Stanley Cup playoffs, he was the outright leader. Barber’s 12 goals over 19 games led the team while Paul Holmgren scored ten and Rick MacLeish and Reg Leach both had nine. That Flyers team reached the Stanley Cup final before losing to the New York Islanders.
Despite not going as deep in 1980-81, Barber put up a great performance. In just 12 playoff games, he scored eleven goals. This time, the Flyers were bounced in the quarter-final by the Calgary Flames. The series went the full seven games with Philadelphia actually outscoring the Flames 26-22.
1981-82 would once again see Bill lead the Flyers in regular season goal scoring with 45, one more than Brian Propp. It was the third of three consecutive seasons scoring at least 40 and five off his career high of 50 put up in 1975-76.
Between 1972-73 and 1983-84, Bill Barber appeared in 903 regular season and 129 playoff games in the National Hockey League, all with the Philadelphia Flyers. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1990. The same year, the Flyers retired his jersey number 7.
